First Camping Trip

Why the name Phoenix?

Some people have asked me why I named my dog Phoenix.  I actually devoted quite a bit of thought to his name, even before I started looking for a puppy.  I wanted to choose a strong name, and I felt that a breed as beautiful and powerful as the Doberman was worthy of a mythological name.

Puppy Dog Eyes

I took this picture in my back yard while sitting in my hammock.  I had just missed the most perfect picture opportunity because I didn’t have my camera with me.  He was sitting in the sun in that perfect doberman alert pose with his head held high.  Ah, well.  I like this one too.
